A Sunset Engagement Session on Mt. Tam

This engagement session was added to Kathy & Jake’s wedding package. I offer it as an inexpensive addition because I see it as the perfect space for a couple to get used to my presence — for us to get comfortable and let our guards down. By the time we reach wedding day, we’re past the small talk. Everything feels easy.

This one had all of that. The session was in March, but it happened to be a record-breaking heatwave. T-shirt weather on Mt. Tam at sunset. Midweek, so we were alone everywhere we went. And the couple brought with them a sense of calm, confident ease — the type of people I could spend a few minutes around in complete silence. Nothing awkward about it.

We walked trails through the oaks, climbed rocks to watch the sun set over Bolinas, then rambled back to the car as the sky went wild over the Farallons. It couldn’t have been easier.

This Is Why

This is why I photograph weddings – because you want you to remember how it felt.

If you see beauty in the imperfection, if you want to remember the whole story that will be your wedding day, I hear you.
