Watching families grow is one of the greatest privileges of my work. I first met Daisy and Travis before they had their first child, back when my photography business was still relatively young. We met at a Popup Studio I was hosting in our neighborhood — San Francisco’s Outer Sunset.
We began with a maternity session, followed by a newborn session for their first child, who happens to be almost the same age as my daughter. Afterward, they purchased a pair of handcrafted frames made from American Elm — upcycled from felled trees in Golden Gate Park. Delivering those frames felt incredible, knowing they’d become part of that family’s ongoing story.
But the story didn’t end there. In the summer of 2025, Daisy and Travis reached out again to book another maternity + newborn package. We met in Marin for the maternity session, then in their San Francisco home once their second child arrived.
Halfway through the session, I noticed something familiar in the background — the same frames I had built years before. Inside them were photos from their first newborn session: their first child, about the same age as the baby I was now photographing. We were standing in the same room, surrounded by those earlier memories. It all felt wonderfully full-circle — a bit of magic.
If you love the idea of documenting the arrival of a new child from start to finish, I recommend making those arrangements before your little one is born. It’s a wild season of life — simplify with something like my Three Chapters session bundle.
This Is Why

This is why I photograph families – because want you to remember how it felt.
If you see beauty in the chaos, if you want to remember the whole rollercoaster that is childhood + parenthood, I hear you.
