Hey there photographers, creatives, solopreneurs.

It has been a while since I’ve written to this group, and that’s with good reason. This year my family made the decision to focus heavily on my business, and that is starting with an overhaul on the photography side. Rebranding, new service offerings, etc. It’s hard work, but it’s good work.

I was recently interviewed by Alana Ruoso, a business coach with background in the arts, for her podcast called Ditch the Struggle. My episode went live this week.

Her show is all about helping people build businesses and lives that feel aligned, sustainable, and human, instead of constantly pushing through burnout and pressure.

She invited me on to chat about my transition away from aviation and into freelance photography. You can listen to the episode on Spotify or Apple Podcasts to hear the full conversation.

The timing felt a little ironic…or maybe just perfect. Lately I’ve been bouncing between feeling incredibly excited about what I’m building at The Enloe Creative and finding myself a little overwhelmed by all the irons I’ve got in all the fires.

In the interview, I talked about how even after leaving my aviation career, I still work really hard. The difference now is that the work aligns with my life and values. It no longer feels like a struggle.

Hearing myself say that was the reminder I needed. When I remind myself to breath deep, lift my head out of the weeds, I am incredibly grateful. Because this is exactly what I want to be working hard on.

I’m curious, can you relate? Does your business feel aligned with your life? Does working hard on your business feel good? Or is it a struggle?

More soon,
David
