The newborn phase is a fleeting, beautiful blur—a moment in life that passes before you’ve fully had the chance to take it in. This East Bay family chose a hybrid film + digital photo session to preserve the raw, tender magic of these first days.

Newborn sessions are intentionally unhurried. There’s no rush, only time to savor. Together, we’ll capture more than just your baby’s tiny fingers and sleepy yawns—I’m searching for the emotions written on your faces: the gratitude, wonder, deep love, quiet joy, and yes, even the sweet exhaustion that comes with it all.

Using my film camera allows me to slow down even more, bringing an extra layer of depth and presence to the images. These film photographs, mixed throughout the gallery below, hold a timeless beauty. Can you spot the ones shot on film?

I’m David, and I photograph Bay Area families that are super proud of where they live. My easygoing presence puts everyone at ease, and I focus on candid emotion and moments of connection. No posing, no stress.
