I’ll admit it—I’m like most people who instinctively hope for sunshine on photo day. But I’ve learned that when it comes to Marin or San Francisco photo sessions, fog is a gift. Why?
- Soft, even light: Fog allows beautiful photos no matter which direction we are facing, in shadow or in open light, because the sun reflects off the entire sky, illuminating everything.
- Comfortable temperature: Little-known fact…Bay Area fog is indicative of our warmest summer weather. I’m not suggesting you wear a T shirt, but foggy sessions are typically quite comfortable.
- Peaceful Atmosphere: Fewer people venture out in the fog, which means quieter beaches and a relaxed, stress-free session. No dodging crowds, just uninterrupted family time.
