Pictures of people in places that matter.

DAVID ENLOE (HE, HIM)

Your photographer

Good family photos are more than moments — they hold the heart of this season in your life.

As a work-from-home dad, I know how hard it is to slow down amidst the busyness. To notice all that is beautiful every day.

I have crafted an experience that is rooted in presence and quality time with your family.

Good pictures come from moments like these.

Every photo in your gallery hand-edited in black & white. You will have the chance to add this before your session, or you can purchase after gallery delivery.

Add a Custom Frame

A full circle experience. I personally source local wood of known origin – downed trees or upcycled lumber. We collaborate on wood choice and printing options. Then I build your picture frame by hand, start to finish.

Sunshine Insurance

Love sunshine? While some of my favorite photos come from foggy sessions, I share a soft spot for sunshine. With Sunshine Insurance, you can reschedule twice for fog or overcast without additional fees.

Questions. Answered

I do not have a Marin portrait Studio. But I would be happy to give you a recommendation.

I love every season in Marin.

Spring is a time of transition and variability, but between whatever weather systems roll through, you’ll find crystal clear air and emerald green hills.

Summer is warm and sunny inland, with alternating sunshine and fog at the coast. Expect crowds on weekends or at destination locations.

Fall is often considered the “best” weather on the coast, and it often is! But the chance for wildfire smoke is heightened, and sometimes Winter storms start rolling through early.

Don’t write off Winter. Yes, the chance of rain (& rescheduling) is a reality, but the most beautiful light of the year is found in between winter storms. This time of year, my schedule is lighter, so I’m more flexible!

Easygoing, unposed, interactive. During most of my sessions, we chat a lot. I ask questions about your family and I share details about mine. If you have kids with you, I spend a lot of time connecting with them and building trust.

I will direct you towards beautiful light. I might ask you to repeat a loving gesture. But I do not “pose” in the traditional sense, so expect candid photos that are beautifully un-polished.

Film is slower and more intentional, and the end result is less about technical perfection and more about feeling. I take fewer frames and commit to the moment. The photographs tend to have a softer, more timeless look, often with natural grain and texture. You may see a few frames that are slightly soft or imperfect in a way that feels human. That character is part of what people love about film.

Digital photography gives me the freedom to take a lot of images. That means I can work quickly with moving kids, handle low light, and deliver sharp photos in a wide range of conditions. It also gives me the luxury of selecting the “best” split-second moments during editing.

If you want the cleanest, sharpest, most technically consistent images, digital is the better fit. If you want something more tactile, nostalgic, and emotionally textured, film is magic.

For family sessions, digital photo galleries are delivered within 4 weeks. Analog film photos and video productions are delivered within 8 weeks. Rush processing is available for an additional fee.

The best spot for a photo session is a place that your family loves, where you have shared memories, and that holds meaning for you. But if you’re looking for inspiration, here’s my guide to Marin photo session locations.

Some of my all-time favorite images have come from foggy Marin Headlands sessions. If you are adamant about sunshine, let’s talk about locations that are less likely to be foggy. Or you might consider my Sunshine Insurance option, where you get two reschedules without additional cost.

If the forecast 48 hours before your session shows rain, I am happy to reschedule.

What it means to be a Marin County photographer

Moving to West Marin felt a lot like coming home. Just like where I grew up, I found myself surrounded by beautiful natural spaces. Long hikes into the Mount Tamalpais trail network, morning surf sessions at Bolinas or Point Reyes, even mountain bike rides all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge.

The families and communities of Marin County share a connection to their surroundings and a gratitude for this incredible land of oak hills and redwood groves and rugged coastline. I use my camera to tell that story.
