Hi, I’m David (he, him).

My wife and I faced a challenging journey to parenthood, which opened our eyes to the myriad emotional stories of so many expecting parents.

I understand how layered maternity can be. That experience allows me to approach every maternity session with empathy and an open heart.

As your maternity photographer, I’ll create an experience that feels relaxed and genuine, honoring not just your pregnancy but the entire path that led you here.

FAQs

My wife lost two pregnancies. By the third one, she kept it fairly private. She also recognized the importance of documenting this season of her life but was uncomfortable with too much focus on her body. This experience shaped the way I approach maternity sessions. We keep the focus on telling a broader story and of your connection to place.

For a typical pregnancy, I suggest 30-34 weeks. 36 weeks is fine, but it is nice to have a little room for rescheduling. After 36 weeks it gets much harder to move around, and at that point, the baby could show up anytime. For multiples, 30 weeks is about right!

Yes! I work with a lot of expecting parents throughout the North Bay, but am happy to travel to the East Bay, South Bay, and beyond. I do charge a travel fee for anything beyone an hour from me.

We generally schedule the maternity session right away and pencil in a newborn session as well. After the newborn Then I will reach out a few months before your child’s 6 month and 1 year birthdays. The Four Seasons package is meant to streamline this whole process so that you don’t have to stress about it.

You pay 25% to secure your reservation. Then 25% of the remainder is due 10 days before each of the sessions. Everything is simple and automated – you won’t have to remember a thing 🙂

I love when families bring their pets. Know that things will be a little more chaotic and it is really important to think through the experience.

Obviously, we need a pet-friendly location and likely want to avoid crowded or distracting spaces. Rodeo Beach and the San Geronimo Commons are both welcoming locations for families with dogs.

Great question. Babies arrive when they arrive. And unexpected challenges are always possible. For a legitimate health reason, I am always happy to reschedule newborn and maternity sessions.
